Other Communities The Palm Springs Unified School District includes 12 elementary schools, one of which -- Della S. Lindley Elementary School -- serves Thousand Palms. The other primary schools serve Cathedral City, Desert Hot Springs, Palm Springs and Rancho Mirage. At the middle school level, most Thousand Palms students attend James Workman Middle School. At the secondary level, Rancho Mirage students attend Cathedral City High School. About 90 percent of the students graduate from Cathedral City High School, about 7 percent higher than the state average. Also, 37.2 percent of the students take park in vocational education, slightly below the state average 42.7 percent, according to 1995-96 state statistics. Bermuda Dunes students attend La Quinta High School or Indio High School, depending where they live. About 77 percent of the students graduate from Indio High School, about 6 percent below the state average. Also, 35.1 percent of the students take part in vocational education, 7 percent below the state average 42.7 percent, according to 1995-96 state statistics. La Quinta is a new school and no statistics are available. Thousand Palms residents also have access to Continuation and Adult Education. Mount San Jacinto and Las Brisas offer continuation programs, while Palm Springs Community and Palm Springs Adult provide adult education programs. Las Brisas serves Desert Hot Springs; the other three schools serve the entire district. Bermuda Dunes residents also have access to Continuation schools. La Familia and Amistad offer continuation programs, each serving the entire district. Adult education programs are offered at the Palm View School campus.
