At the secondary level, Coachella Valley High School serves Coachella, Mecca and Thermal, while West Shores High School serves Salton City.

About 75 percent of Coachella Valley students graduate, about 8 percent below the state average, but 44.4 percent attend vocational schools, about 3 percent more than the state average. At West Shores High School, 100 percent of the students graduate, well above the state average 83 percent, according to 1995-96 state statistics.
