At the middle school level, most Indian Wells students attend La Quinta Middle School.

At the secondary level, Indian Wells students attend La Quinta High School or Indio High School, depending where they live. About 77 percent of the students graduate from Indio High School, about 6 percent below the state average. Also, 35.1 percent of the students take part in vocational education, 7 percent below the state average 42.7 percent, according to 1995-96 state statistics. La Quinta is a new school and no statistics are available.

Indian Wells residents also have access to Continuation schools. La Familia and Amistad offer continuation programs, each serving the entire district. Adult education programs are offered at the Palm View School campus.
